Green Chef’s goal was to drive brand awareness and increase signups among prospective customers using the most effective ad units available to them. By advertising on Facebook and Instagram, Green Chef could leverage the social network’s large user base, broad array of ad formats and placements, and test the performance of social video advertising.

Enter SteelHouse

SteelHouse targeted three separate audiences; married college-grad homeowners interested in healthy food and meal delivery, people interested in similar services, and a look-alike audience that mirrored recent purchasers. The campaign was optimized toward conversions with an automatic bid, and ran across both Facebook and Instagram.

The campaign consisted of two 15 and 30 second video ads which highlighted the Green Chef brand and how easy it is to prepare quick, organic, and healthy meals. Designed to be played with sound off, the videos used enticing visuals and on-video text to explain how to prepare a delicious entree. Each video was accompanied by copy that offered $50 off the first order, enticing prospective buyers to convert.

The Results

Green Chef discovered that using engaging video not only drives strong performance, it also lets them better tell their brand’s story to potential customers. When utilizing video on social, Green Chef saw a 126% higher ROAS and a 38% increase in click ROAS, while registering a CTR 5.75x higher than their display campaigns.

Based off these results, Green Chef has since doubled their budget and continued to run video campaigns on Facebook and Instagram to drive awareness and help bring in new customers.
